Apply for UNAVCO Earthscope SAR Data Access (MiniCat and data agreements)

Please note that data in the UNAVCO Earthscope SAR Data archive is for North America. We do not have SAR data for other parts of the world. If you need data only elsewhere, there is little reason to apply here.

To get SAR data files from the UNAVCO Earthscope SAR Data archive you must complete this application process. This is not for access to WInSAR archives. (In future we may arrange for a joint application process.)

First, you need an approved "MiniCat." Use this form to request a "MiniCat." The name MiniCat came from the ESA "Category 1" data application for research, non-commercial, SAR data users. The UNAVCO Minicat applies to all data sources, not only ESA data. UNAVCO collects the Minicat information to report to the data-providing space agencies on the use of their data.

Second, to download data you also need to submit the appropriate data use agreements to UNAVCO.

To use ALOS data you must complete the data use agreement on the Alaska Satellite Facility website http://www.asf.alaska.edu/alos/agreement.html. Please check here if you have completed the ALOS data use agreement. To use ESA (ERS and Envisat) data you must complete, sign, and return to UNAVCO the ESA Data Use Agreement . This is the same agreement that approved WInSAR data users submit. Please check here if you already have completed the ESA data use agreement. To use RADARSAT data you must complete, sign, and return to UNAVCO the RADARSAT Data Use Agreement. Please check here if you already have completed the RADARSAT data use agreement.
